So, like I said in my previous post. It is Brown County Fair time. :) Leading up to the fair I was told it was an amazing place and a fun time for all. Well, it really didn't disappoint. We went out last night to wander around and check things out. We first had to figure out the parking situation. :) It wasn't a parking lot. It was just a field.... Not a huge issue except it wasn't even and it has been raining so it was muddy everywhere!!! So, once we finally got parked and made our way up to the gates we paid for our tickets and went in... The first thing we saw when walking in were these...
These were some of the largest pumpkins I've ever seen in my life! If you look closely you can see that they wrote the weights on them. HOW CRAZY IS A 536 pound pumpkin!
Next we just started walking and looking at things. The first building we came to was the FFA/4-H building. My wonderful husband took this picture because he also thought my Mom would like to see it. So, Mom check this out.
Then we went outside and started to just see what we could find... There are lots of food trucks/booths out there... The one that stood out to me was this one...
I just can't imagine eating Chinese Food at a fair... I guess it just doesn't seem like fair food to me. Who wants to walk around juggling rice and chopsticks? Oh well, it just solidifies the fact that I am definitely in a different part of the world!
So, then came my husbands favorite part of the fair... YUP you guessed it. The animals. We went through the rabbit barn and have many more barns to still walk through while we are there on Saturday.
And GUESS WHAT.... Rabbits weren't the only things in the rabbit barn...
Yes, they have guinea pigs at the fair here. I have never heard of people showing guinea pigs but here ya go...
So, next came some food (Not much out there really appeals to me or that I can actually eat) But, that's ok. I will be better off in the long run I think. :) I am excited to get some Lemonade on Saturday while we are out there for my fair booth. I am really excited. I just have a few things to finish up today before I am completely ready for the booth.
So, the food happened and we wandered around the Merchant Barns (Yes, that is what they are called at the fair) looking for the booth I will be set up at on Saturday. As we were walking around we found this happening....
They were so fun to watch!
They have events like this all week at the fair.
Hopefully we will be able to attend the fair more days next year.
I am excited to go back out this weekend and get more pictures of things happening out there this weekend. :) A new post with updates from the fair to come. Hopefully it warms up a bit this weekend while we are out there!
What are your favorite fair events and activities in your home town??
Do you have a favorite "Fair Food"?
